Chorus Polaris is pleased to invite you to a concert of psalms and psalm-like music for chorus, both a cappella and accompanied. The book of Psalms has been an important collection of poetry and song for at least 3000 years. Modern poets and composers have contributed to the genre in exciting ways, as well. The concert will include musical settings from a 500-year span, built around the 20th century classic, Leonard Bernstein’s Chichester Psalms.

 

Two dates in different venues are offered: Those coming at 7:30pm on the evening of Friday, May 17 will hear us at Christ the King Lutheran Church in New Brighton. At 5:00pm on Sunday, May 19, the concert will be repeated at Hennepin Ave. United Methodist Church near downtown Minneapolis.
